Our theme for next Sunday (August 18th) is “finger foods”.

Not sure what to bring? Wikipedia suggests that “examples of generally accepted finger food are miniature meat pies, sausage rolls, sausages on sticks, cheese and olives on sticks, chicken drumsticks or wings, spring rolls, miniature quiches, samosas, sandwiches, Merenda or other such based foods, such as pitas or items in buns, bhajjis, potato wedges, vol au vents, several other such small items and risotto balls (arancini). Other well-known foods that are generally eaten with the hands include hamburgers, pizza, chips, hot dogs, fruit, and bread.”

This wonderful resource is available both in digital and paperback.

Leedy examines pertinent biblical terms and includes Scripture verses that can help believers discern the world and its subversive influence. He met his Lord face-to-face on June 4, 2019.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Monday, June 10 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 301, Dade City, with a service at 2 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Memory Gardens.

Willis’ obituary is recorded on Hodges’ website as follows…

Willis Allen Haynes Sr., 79, passed away on June 4, 2019. He was born to Elmer and Vina Haynes on April 15, 1940 in Charleston, West Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years: Delores Haynes; children: Angela Lancaster (Joseph Michael), Willis Allen Haynes Jr. (Donna Marie), and Yvonne Haynes; grandchildren: Shawna, Stephanie, Joseph, Alyson, and Brett; great grandchildren: Jacob, Brett Jr., Weston, Katie, Haley, and Allen Lee. Christian growth is a day-by-day endeavor. The Spirit works in us as we learn God’s Word and make everyday decisions in the light of its truth. “The Walk” explores what the Bible has to say about ten practical areas of life:

  2. Biblical Change
  3. A Balanced Walk
  4. The Christian Home
  5. Response to Suffering
  6. Spiritual Gifts
  7. Contentment
  8. Financial Stewardship
  9. Principles of Purity
  10. Worship

While the exact timeframe of this new study is tentative, we anticipate spending between 10-12 months working through “The Walk.” After all, we are walking (not running) through the material.
